As
the Transcontinental railroad came through Wyoming in
the late 1860's, one of the largest trestles on the west
bound line was the Dale Creek Bridge. There were such
high winds in the area that passengers had to get off
the train and walk across and board again after the train
had passed over. |

The
narrow rugged Weber Canyon leading to Ogden presented
quite an obstacle to Union Pacific. Several tunnels and
bridges across the Weber River had to be constructed. |
