The Gallery of Broken Relationships
A community art project
February-March 2016 / Ogden’s Union Station / Myra Powell Gallery
Americans celebrate Valentine’s Day with candy, flowers, and cards. But love, especially true love, is never easy. Relationships take work and the loss of a relationship is an extremely difficult and often traumatic event. We seek to gather objects and their stories from community members that symbolize their broken relationships. We will compile these objects into an exhibition that celebrates both the true nature of love as well as the lessons learned from our broken relationships. We are interested in documenting all types of broken relationships, not just romantic relationships. This exhibit will document our love, our loss, and our strength.
If you would like to participate in this project, please email the information requested below to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Submissions will be accepted through January 29th. You will be notified if your proposed submission will be included in the gallery show or online exhibit. The exhibition will run from February to March 2016.
